already have 18" stock rims that allow a great smooth ride. will going 20" make it really bad? i know 22" will. also, where do i find some really cool pics of this car with custom wheels besides cardomain.com?


I owned a 05 Magnum R/T AWD with stock 18's and then placed 20's and found the ride a little stiffer than the stock tires when you go over a few bumps because of the lower profile tire. However, with 20's you gain better handling capabilities if you buy a performance rated low profile tire.

I traded in my 05 for a 06 SRT8 Magnum that came stock with 20's and my Magnum rides really nice and smooth. I would totally stay clear of anything bigger than 20's if you are looking for a smooth ride. I drove a friends charger with 22's and that was a harsh and teeth rattling experience.

Also, when looking for the rims for your magnum make sure the bolt pattern is 5x115mm and if you have a RWD version the offset (Stock wheel - +25mm) but I have seen people placing +15mm to +25mm offsets on there RWD versions.

AWD version offset (Stock wheel - +55mm) I used +42mm on my 05 AWD R/T. If you stick within these offsets the rim will not stick outside your wheel wells & fender and you should have no rubbing issues on the suspension components.

20 inch wheels on an evo.......no way man. why do that to urself? you will sacrafice what make an evo an evo by adding huge wheels or "DUBS". Its an evo! keep ur 18's and save ur money. the handling and performance will be diminished.

I was considering switching from OEM 17-inch wheels on my 2007 Tahoe to 20-inch OEM wheels. Using an on-line tire size calculator, the circumference difference is about 1%. Is the computer/speedo different in a Tahoe shipped with 17 inch wheels versus a Tahoe shipped with 20 inch wheels or is it close enough that GM keeps the computer/speedo the same for either wheel size option?


They are not the same.You will need to have the service dept recalabrate the new size tires to the BCM of your tahoe. They will also have to recalabrate the onboard tire pressure system of the new wheels. Best of luck.
